Kathie Russell

kathieKathie L. Russell is the founding and managing partner of Russell Goetcheus & Associates, P.C.. She concentrates her practice in Real Estate, Business, Entertainment and Contract Law.

Kathie graduated from UNC Chapel Hill School of Law in 1994, where she was a member of Holderness Moot Court Negotiation Team. In 2006, she was elected to the Chatham County Board of Education and currently serves as its chair. She serves on the board of directors for ChathamArts and Shakori Hills Grassroots Music Festival, as well as various local and political committees and boards.

Kathie has three children, Greyson, Zoe and Kalie and enjoys spending time with them, reading, gardening, snow skiing, water skiing and travelling.

Susan Goetcheus

Susan L. Goetcheus received her B.A. in Philosophy, with a minor in Religion, from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1989. She received her J.D., cum laude, from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2006. During law school, Ms. Goetcheus was a member of the Law Journal, a constitutional law research assistant and interned at the North Carolina Court of Appeals for the Honorable Martha A. Geer.

Ms. Goetcheus is a board certified family law specialist.  Ninety percent of Ms. Goetcheus’ practice is devoted to family law, including child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, absolute divorce, domestic violence, termination of parental rights, adoptions, separation agreements, property settlements and prenuptial agreements. She prides herself on being responsive to the needs of her clients by returning phone calls promptly, billing efficiently and litigating effectively. Ms. Goetcheus represents individuals pro bono through Project Together and the Volunteer Lawyers Program. She lives with her husband, Richard Marshall, their three children, Matilda, Lucy and Harry and their three dogs, Otis, Ziggy and Daisy.

Mary C. Immen


Mary is thMaryWebsitee first estate planning attorney to join Russell Goetcheus & Associates, P.C.  Estate planning and estate administration involve two of the most important aspects of our lives: our money and our family.  Mary strives to provide the best service possible by developing a lasting relationship with each client.  Her goal is to assist each client in accomplishing his or her own estate planning goals.

Mary graduated from Campbell Law School in 2014, where she served as the Executive Vice President of the Trusts, Estate Settlement, and Tax Law Club.   While in law school, Mary also participated in Wills for Heroes, a program that provides free wills and other estate planning documents to local first responders and their spouses or domestic partners.  Also during law school, Mary worked as a research assistant to the authors of this state’s leading treatise on wills, trusts, and estates, Wiggins Wills and Administration of Estates in North Carolina.

Mary grew up in the Triangle and currently resides in Raleigh with her husband.  She enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, sewing, embroidery, playing pool, volunteering at the North Carolina Museum of Art, and travelling.

Seth Percy

SethWebsiteSeth Percy received his B.S. in Sociology from East Carolina University in 2009.  He received his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law in 2013.  His practice areas include civil litigation and traffic defense.  He is a member of the Tenth Judicial District, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

In his free time, Seth enjoys playing with his dog Sawyer and watching his favorite sports teams including the Carolina Hurricanes and the ECU Pirates football team.
